¡Venga! Flamenco presents Siempre Flamenco’s VII Festival de Cante Flamenco. This annual event is in its seventh year in Miami and is making its debut in Atlanta on Saturday, May 12, 2012 at the Hotel Melia in Midtown Atlanta for one night only. The event features an evening of traditional Flamenco song and dance from Spain. Festival de Cante Flamenco will feature Spanish Flamenco singers, Internationally recognized Flamenco guitarist, singer and composer Paco Fonta, and Nationally acclaimed Flamenco dancer and teacher Celia Fonta.
Flamenco originated with singing, and now a show in Atlanta highlights this essential part of flamenco’s roots. Siempre Flamenco’s Festival de Cante Flamenco is in its 7th year in Miami. In 2012 — The Festival’s inaugural year in Atlanta — it is a celebration of emotional music and dance. Three Spanish flamenco singers: Kina Mendez, Javier Heredia, and Jesús Montoya, fill the ears and the soul with ‘cante jondo’ in the spirit of the flamenco festivals that have been celebrated annually in Spain since the early 1900s. Siempre Flamenco brings dynamic guitar and dance to the stage, two elements that developed in flamenco to accompany the singing.
