Laura Coyle

Jazz vocalist Laura Coyle, raised in Atlanta, GA, sings with an intimate knowledge and love for the music she performs. A jazz aficionado since college, Coyle began her study of music privately while pursuing her career as an illustrator. An evening at a jam session earned her a mentorship with drummer Bernard Linnette and a spot in his ensemble. She released her debut CD Laura Coyle, in 2008. Peter Merrett, of PBS Melbourne Australia remarked,“A stunning voice, wonderful phrasing on these classic standards breathing new life into every word.”

The following year, Laura was the featured artist on a live recorded episode of Georgia Public Broadcasting’s ‘On Stage’ show. In 2009 she was chosen as a quarterfinalist in the American Traditions Competition at the Savannah Music Festival.  With her timeless voice and sense of swing, Laura Coyle is quickly generating a following among jazz lovers near and far. Coyle performs regularly with many of Atlanta’s top jazz musicians at such venues as Churchill Grounds, Fernbank, and the High Museum and her recording is played locally on jazz station favorites, WCLK and WABE.
