By popular demand, The Chronicle re-groups live at 595 North for a special edition of “John Roberts presents Simply the Best.”
The Chronicle is the ultimate funk Jazz band of Atlanta. The best in funk, hip-hop, and jazz from a truly improsivational band that reflects the “Atlanta Underground” sound.
As an added stop to their North American tour, Snarky Puppy hits in Atlanta with “music for your brain and booty.” With the release of their live, 2-disc album/DVD “Tell Your Friends” (Ropeadope Records), Snarky Puppy has gone from an underground secret to one of the most internationally respected names in instrumental music.
Snarkey Puppy is a large ensemble devoted to bringing uncompromised, original music to a non-exclusive audience. In a crazy, twisted way, we play dance music. It’s also art music. I suppose it’s just music.
Snarky Puppy is an eclectic group of folks from very different musical and cultural backgrounds… it includes sidemen from artists like Snoop Dogg, Erykah Badu, Chaka Khan, Kirk Franklin, Marcus Miller, Myron Butler & Levi, and the like. Two of ‘em have Grammy awards. That’s pretty cool. We are committed to music education in addition to bringing new sounds to the world. We love working with schools and non-profit organizations whenever possible. Everyone in the band cooks. Everyone in the band dances. Not necessarily well.
